Critical Forecasts from Space: "Tech & Space Leaders Show" with Lisa Dreher

While my Gentle Readers are well aware of my decades of writing on space-related topics, I also have a day job as the Chief Scientist of a small Boston-based startup called Tropical Weather Analytics (TWA). Our main project at TWA is currently the development of a constellation of CubeSats called the Hurricane Hunter Satellites (HHSats) in cooperation with our strategic partner, Phantom Space. The HHSat constellation, set for its initial launch in 2028, is designed to provide high-resolution stereo imagery of clouds, precision measurements of cloud top heights and the determination of 3D winds – all vital input data for today’s weather forecasting models.

Below is an interview with Lisa Dreher recorded on August 4, 2026 for the Tech & Space Leaders Show where I discuss TWA’s HHSat project and the potential impact its new data will have on future weather forecasting.
