While it has been a few months since I have published a new post on the Drew Ex Machina website, that doesn’t mean that I haven’t been busy during this time. One of the projects about space history I have been involved with is taking part as a guest in a recent episode of the Failure to Launch Podcast run by Quinn Madsen with his cohost Chris and his other cohost Chris. Recorded last month, the episode “The First Moon Race with Andrew LePage” takes a deep dive into the first attempts to reach the Moon with the early American Pioneer and Soviet Luna probes launched between 1958 and 1960 – a subject I have written about extensively over the last three decades. This episode can be accessed below:

In lieu of a new article, many of my long-time readers may enjoy an opportunity to actually hear me talk about the space history I normally write about. Articles on Dew Ex Machina website about this crucial time in the early history of the Space Age can be found in the Related Reading section below.
